The Cinderella Affair provides high school junior and seniors new and gently-used formal wear absolutely FREE, helping make prom an affordable and memorable event!

To help you understand how your dress selection will take place, please familiarize yourself with the boutique procedures below. These procedures have been developed to maintain order, ensure fairness and maximize our limited resources. For these reasons, we will not make any exceptions to the rules.

PREPARE FOR WEATHER AND POSSIBLE LONG WAIT TIMES. Please bring something to occupy your time, water and apply sunscreen - March can be quite warm!

1) Ticketing

  • Tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis
  • The first 300 girls will be admitted on the current boutique day
  • The remaining girls will receive the same color ticket and will be allowed first in line the following week for boutique day
  • You will not be allowed to hold space in line for anyone
  • Only one person, per ticket - you may bring one adult in with you, but they will have to wait in the conference room
  • Adults will not be allowed to shop for girls without the girl physically present
  • Males will be required to wait in the first floor lobby

2) Boutique Entrance

  • Once your number is called, you will proceed to the “check-in” desk
  • You will be required to show a valid high school ID
  • You may only select a dress if you are a junior or senior
  • No Cell phone usage is allowed once inside the boutique

3) Dress Selection

  • After you have signed in - you will be taken to the dress selection room.
  • You may select 5 dresses to try on
  • Volunteers will guide you to the correct size racks
  • Choose wisely - remember that formal dresses run small
  • You will have 10-15 minutes to try on your selections
  • If for some reason your selections do not fit - you will be allowed to return to the dress selection room ONE time
  • You may select 2-3 dresses and return to the dressing room

4) Dressing Rooms

  • Volunteers will carry your selections to the dressing area
  • Once in the dressing area, a volunteer will direct you to an open space
  • You will have 15-20 minutes to try on your selections

5) Alterations

  • If your selected dress needs a small repair (straps shortened, missing button) - volunteer seamstresses will be on hand to help you
  • You will need to sign in with them for a repair
  • Please be aware that there can be a wait time involved

6) Final Dress Selection

  • Once a dress has been chosen, a volunteer will take you to a separate room where some shoes and costume jewelry will be available
  • Shoes and jewelry are not guaranteed

7) Check-out

  • Before leaving, you will be required to go to the “check-out” table
  • If it is needed, a dry-cleaning voucher may be provided
  • Once a dress is selected – there are no exchanges
